Car crash near Pine Grove Drive results in death of elderly woman

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12.

A car crash along Belle Terre Parkway at Pine Grove Drive on the morning of Tuesday, June 12, resulted in the death of an elderly woman, according to a news release by Florida Highway Patrol.

Danielle Harris, 20, of Palm Coast, was stopped at the intersection of Pine Grove Drive and Belle Terre Parkway around 9:30 a.m. Harris, turning left to travel southbound, violated the right of way of an approaching vehicle. The front end of 51-year-old Palm Coast resident Liliy Buts’ 2010 Hyundai Accent smashed into the left side of Harris’ 2016 Ford Fiesta.

Harris, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler. Buts was also taken to FHF but had minor injuries.

Rae Cabot, the only passenger in Buts’ car, was killed. She was 99 years old.
