Friday, Aug. 10

Frieda’s Festive Fridays

When: 5:30-7:15 p.m.

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: Free with paid pool admission

Details: Join city staff with these monthly fun games and activities. For more information, call 986-4741.

 

Monday, Aug. 13

Learn the basics of your computer

When: 1-3 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Cost: Free, but pre-register

Detail: These classes teach you all about the basic care of your computer, different programs you might have to use and internet security. This class will be an Introduction to Windows 10. Pre-register at http://www.palmcoastgov.com/register. Call 986-2323.

 

Learn to Swim - Level 1

When: 5-5:30 p.m.

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: Each session is $50

Details: Participants will learn basic water skills and water safety. Level 1 training includes: how to safely enter and exit a pool, floating on front/back, treading water, swimming on front/back, retrieving submerged objects and rolling from front to back. Sessions are Monday to Thursday for ages 6 and up. Register at http://www.palmcoastgov.com/register for session one: Aug. 13-23 or session two: Sept. 10-20.

 

Thursday, Aug. 16

Inspired Mic Night

When: 6 p.m.

Where: New Europa, in the European Village, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway

Cost: $10.50 when purchased online, $15 at the door

Details: The first performer opens at 6:30 p.m. Each of the 14 performers has seven minutes to present material ranging from poetry to stand-up comedy and everything in between. The ticket includes one drink and entry into a drawing with a prize of $50 cash or a $75 gift certificate to the New Europa. For tickets and info, visit http://www.theinspiredmicus.com.

 

Friday, Aug. 17

Flippa Ball (Kid’s Water Polo)

When: 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: $30 a person

Details: Have your kids ever wanted to play water polo? Keep your kids active during the school year with this fun and easy introduction to the sport. Flippa Ball will be on Fridays, Aug. 17, to Sept. 14. Ages 8-12 are welcome. Make sure to register at http://www.palmcoastgov.com/register.

 

Saturday, Aug. 18

Hangar Party

When: 6-10 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Elks Lodge 2709

Cost: $99 for a pair; $59 single ticket

Details: Teens-In-Flight, a Flagler County nonprofit that provides full flight training and aviation maintenance scholarships to teens who have lost a parent or sibling serving on active duty U.S. Armed Forces or is a teen or sibling of a parent who was wounded in action, will host its first hangar party, featuring dinner, dancing, auctions and more.
