Saturday, May 5

Four-week Swim Stroke Correction program

When: 10-11 a.m. Saturdays: May 5, 12, 19 and 26

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: $30

Details: This intensive swim program offered by the city’s Palm Coast Parks and Recreation department is designed to improve stroke technique, efficiency and overall fitness for ages 6 and up. Another session of Stroke Correction will be offered starting July 7. Pre-registration is required at palmcoastgov.com/register.

 

Kentucky Derby Party

When: 4-7 p.m.

Where: Grand Haven Clubhouse, 500 Riverfront Drive

Cost: $50 per ticket, $20 add on for VIP bourbon testing room

Details: The Young Professionals Group of Flagler County will host the party to benefit Flagler Imagination Library. Guests will enjoy mint juleps, a live stream of the Kentucky Derby on a giant screen, live entertainment, delectable eats, a chance to "bet" on your favorite horses and more. 15th-annual Cycle Flagler

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Flagler Executive Airport, 201 Airport Road

Cost: $50 before April 29; $55 after that, until race day for $65

Details: The event supports the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach's local and international projects. There will be a variety of ride distances ranging from 25-100 miles through some of the area's most scenic roads. Day before packet pickup is 4-6 p.m. May 5 at the airport. Registration and sponsorship opportunities are available at flaglerbeachrotary.org.  

 

Imagine School at Town Center Golf Tournament

When: 8 a.m. registration; 9 a.m. tee-time; 1 p.m. awards and lunch

Where: Grand Reserve Golf Club, 400 Grand Reserve Drive, Bunnell

Cost: $75 per golfer; $300 per team

Retired Educators Association in Flagler County meeting

When: 11 a.m.

Where: River Grille on the Tomoka, 950 N. U.S. 1, Ormond Beach

Halifax Health sponsored golf tournament

When: Registration at 7:30 a.m.; tee time 8:30 a.m.

Where: Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club, 100 Plantation Bay Drive, Ormond Beach

Cost: Individual golfer cost is $150; team of four is $600

Details: The Rotary Club of Flagler County will hold its 23rd-annual Halifax Health sponsored four-person scramble golf tournament to raise money to help the future of the community. ‘Pairings’ concert and art show

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast location of Ocean Art Gallery at the Grand Living Reality Design Center, 2298 Colbert Lane

Cost: Free

Details: The event will feature six pieces of art selected by Ocean Art Gallery Frank Gromling and his co-host, Laura Kiehner, president of the Tecolutla Turtle Preservation Project. Kiehner, a professional flutist, has chosen six musical selections to match each of the pieces of art. The professional musicians who will perform during the art opening reception are Tricia Jane (New York City), Dennis Fremin (St. Augustine), Laura Everts (Daytona Beach), Cloud Ssu-Yun Wang (Palm Coast) and Laura Kiehner (Palm Coast). The six Ocean Art Gallery artists whose artwork will be featured are Kari Powell (San Diego), Stewart Jones (Orlando), Scott Schnell (Ocala), Kenny Fasnacht (Palm Coast), Fred Haase (Flagler Beach) and Dara Dodson (St. Augustine). African American Cultural Society Mother’s Day Luncheon

When: 3 p.m.

Where: African American Cultural Center, 4422 N. U.S. 1

Cost: $30 per person
