Saturday, Sept. 29

Songwriters Festival

When: 2-6 p.m.

Where: Hammock Beach Resort, 200 Ocean Crest Drive

Cost: free admission

Details: Hosted by KIX County 98.7FM, the Palm Coast Songwriters Festival returns with Thom Shepherd and Aaron Barker and their friends, Hugh Mitchell, David Pahanish and Terry Sylvester. Bring your outdoor chairs to hang out on the lawn at Hammock Beach Resort.

 

Monday, Oct. 1

Pink Army flag raising

When: 8:15 a.m.

Where: Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell

Details: Flagler County will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising the Pink Army flag. Guests are encouraged to wear pink.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 2

Awesome Art

When: Tuesdays at 2:15-3:15 p.m. from Oct. 2-23

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Cost: $5 per class

Details: This program provides youth ages 8-17 with the techniques and confidence to build up an art portfolio. Pre-registration required at http://www.parksandrec.fun/youth. Call 986-2323.

 

Palm Coast Apprentice Builders

When: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 2-23

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Cost: $35 for the four-week session

Details: Youth ages 8-11, build your science skills with this hands-on course that uses Lego WeDo 2.0 construction sets. Pre-registration required at www.parksandrec.fun/youth. Call 986-232

 

Be prepared for the November election

When: 7:30-9 p.m.

Where: Hammock Community Center, 79 Mala Compra Road

Details: Flagler County Supervisor of Elections Kaiti Lenhart will speak. Learn about the ballot, turnout, demographics, different ways to vote and constitutional amendments for the general election in November. Snacks and socializing begins at 7 p.m., with the meeting starting at 7:30 p.m.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 3

Honoring veterans

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Christ Lutheran Church, 2323 N. State St., Bunnell

Cost: Free and open to the public

Details: Christ Lutheran Church in Bunnell and Flagler College students are “Honoring Our Veterans” in a documentary with the same name. Flagler College TV student interns, under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Serenati, shot and edited this hour-long documentary which chronicles the very unique 2017 Veteran’s Day Church Service at Christ Lutheran Church in Bunnell. Sunday, Oct. 7

Music and wine in the gardens

When: 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Where: Washington Oaks Gardens and State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd.

Cost: $20 per ticket

Details: The event, which is sponsored by The Friends of Washington Oaks, will feature Fermin Spanish Guitar, a trio of musicians from St. Augustine.
