Friday, Sept. 21

Free fitness program

When: 5-6 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Details: Workout fun for the whole family, REFIT Revolution Family Fitness will be offered every Friday at the Community Center (but no class on Nov. 23). Participants must pre-register at https://www.parksandrec.fun/wellness. Be sure to wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothes for working out or breaking a sweat. Call 986-2323.

 

Saturday, Sept. 22

Farmers market

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Tractor Supply store, 250 Belle Terre Blvd.

Details: Local farmers, crafters and artisans will be on-site selling homemade and homegrown goods at the store. Contact the store at 586-2500 for details about participating in the event.

 

Jazz and jambalaya

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Arts Foundation in Town Center, 1500 Central Ave.

Cost: $50 for PCAF members; $60 general public

Details: Back by popular demand, Longineu Parsons returns for an evening of jazz. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.palmcoastartsfoundation.com/events or by calling 225-4394. Ticket includes a Jambalaya dinner and one drink ticket.

 

Sock Hop dance

When: 6-9 p.m.

Where: First United Methodist Church of Bunnell, 205 N. Pine St., Bunnell

Cost: Suggested donation is $15

Details: The church will present a '50s Sock Hop Dance with music provided by Debbie and Tony T. For additional information, call 437-3258.

 

Rock out at Finn's

When: 9:30 p.m.

Where: Finn's Beachside Pub, 101 N. Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach

Details: Palm Coast resident Logan Fingerhut is a 14-year-old guitar wiz. He'll be playing his own song list and lead guitar with band "Psycho Magnets" at Finn's Saturday night.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 26

Grand-opening ceremony

When: 8:30 a.m.

Where: Commissioner Louis L. Jackson Municipal Park, 308 South Pine Street, Bunnell

Details: There will be opening remarks by city of Bunnell official, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:50 a.m. The Bunnell City Commission voted to name the park after the first male African American city commissioner who served Bunnell from April 1981 to April 1987. Compassionate Friends meeting

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: 4 N. Old Kings Road

Cost: Free

Biketoberfest Ruff Ride Poker Run

When: starts at noon

Where: Starts at Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach

Cost: $25 in advance; $30 on-site

Details: Halifax Humane Society Biketoberfest Ruff Ride Poker Run is back. Registration includes a limited-edition T-shirt, one poker hand, barbeque dinner and drink at the Iron Horse Saloon. Fabulous prizes will be awarded for best and worst hands.
