Calendar: National Music Week recital, 'Wonder Woman' Movies in the Park and more

Friday, May 11

Magic show

When: 7-9 p.m.

Where: Hammock Community Center

Cost: $15 youth ticket; $20 adult

Details: Up and coming young magician Cole Tilton will portray young Erik Weisz 'the King of Cards' by astounding the audience with card magic, including the card trick that fooled Houdini himself. Peter the Great will then, in classic Harry Houdini fashion, perform escapes and illusions, concluding with the famous locked box escape. Tickets available at or call (904) 347-5199.


'Wonder Woman' Movie in the Park

When: 8:20 p.m.

Where: Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave.

Cost: Free

Details: Palm Coast Parks and Recreation and Flagler Schools present “Wonder Woman.” Closed captioning is provided with the monthly movies. Bring snacks, blankets, lawn chairs and bug spray.


Saturday, May 12

National Music Week recital

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Flagler Playhouse, 301 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell

Cost: Free to attend

Details: Since 2013, the Flagler Playhouse has sponsored an annual recital for area piano and voice students as part of National Music Week. Local teachers are members of the oldest non-profit music and arts organization, National Federation of Music Clubs. The event will include seven teachers and nearly 100 students from ages 4 to 74.


Tuesday, May 15

Food Truck Tuesday

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: along Park Street, next to Central Park in Town Center

Cost: price of food

Details: The event will feature a variety of food trucks and entertainment by DJ Vern. The food trucks signed up for May include: Lee’s Famous Cheesesteaks, London Fish and Chippy, Wingin’ It, It’s All Greek to Me, Monsta Lobsta, Cool Beans BBQ and Catering, Woodson’s Wrap Shack, Ramon’s Personal Chef, Arrested Appetite, Kona Ice and Tiki T’s Mini Donuts.


Wednesday, May 16

Playground Pals

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive

Cost: Free

Details: Parents can join their children (ages 2-5) monthly to explore Palm Coast playgrounds for playtime, arts, crafts and games. Pre-registration required by 10 a.m. May 14 at Call 986-2323.


Friday, May 18

E-Nuff-Ced Gospel Comedy

When: 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m.

Where: African American Cultural Society, 4422 N. U.S. 1

Cost: advanced tickets are $20; $28 at the door
