Thursday, Aug. 1

Business Expo

When: 8-9 a.m.

Where: Palm Coast City Hall Chambers, 160 Lake Ave.

Cost: Free

Details: The city of Palm Coast, the Palm Coast Business Assistance Center, Volusia/Flagler SCORE and CareerSource Flagler/Volusia will hold a one-stop-shop session for the public to learn about opportunities designed to help those in business succeed. The “Leveraging Local Resources to Grow Your Business” expo topics will include mentoring, consulting, financial planning, loan assistance and more. RSVP at bit.ly/growlocalbiz.

 

Democratic Club meeting

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: African American Cultural Society, 4422 N. U.S. Highway 1

Cost: Free

Details: The Palm Coast Democratic Club will host its monthly meeting. Business includes the bylaws and an expansion of the Board of Directors. All PCDC members are asked to attend this important meeting; a quorum is required. Check-in and social starts at
6:30 p.m., with the meeting at 7 p.m.

 

Friday, Aug. 2

Summer Art Exhibition and Show

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Cost: Free

Details: Enjoy an art-filled evening featuring multi-generational art created by those who have attended the city’s A.R.T. programs from toddlers all the way through seniors. Registration not required. Call 986-2323 or visit www.parksandrec.fun/events.

 

Saturday, Aug. 3

Log-Rolling Tournament

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Aquatics Center, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: $5/person

Details: All levels welcome to participate in this double-elimination competition on the water. First, second, and third places will receive a medal and prizes for both male and female categories. For ages 18 and up. Pre-registration required at www.parksandrec.fun/aquatics. Call 986-4741.

 

Back-to-School Jam

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Flagler Palm Coast High School, in the E.W. Anderson Athletic Center

Cost: Free

Details: Find out your bus stop information, apply for free and reduced lunch, get help with Skyward Access, get free student haircuts and learn about community resources and after-school programs.

 

Jamaica Independence

When: 7 p.m. to midnight

Where: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696, 47 Old Kings Road N.
Cost: donation of $55/person

Details: The United Caribbean Association of Palm Coast invited the public to the 57th anniversary of Jamaica independence at a dinner/dance. Formal attire requested. There will be a cash bar. Sunday, Aug. 4

AVA Happy Wanderers Sunday 5K

When: 8-10 a.m.

Where: Starting from Big Al’s Bait Shop, 323 N. 2nd Street, Flagler Beach

Cost: $3.00

Republican Club Trivia Night

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Farley's Irish Pub, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway.

Cost: Free admission

Details: Flagler County Republican Club will host "Are You Smarter Than" Political and Constitutional Trivia Night. No charge; open to the public. Cash bar.
