Thursday, Jan. 11

Musical Munchkins

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: Free

Details: The child-with-parent class for preschoolers age 2-5 is an introduction to music, rhythm and movement that will give your child the chance to try various instruments. Thursday mornings from Jan. 11 through March 1, then again March 22 through May 10. Register at palmcoastgov.com/register.

 

Friday, Jan. 12

5th-annual Flagler Film Festival

When: 6-11 p.m.

Where: Hilton Garden Inn, 55 Town Center Blvd.

Cost: Advance $5/Block, $10/one day pass, $25/All-Festival Pass; At the door $7/block, $14/one day pass, $35/All-Festival Pass

Details: Ranging from two-minute micro-shorts to two-hour feature films, there will be 55 films shown at the weekend-long event. Order tickets online at filmfreeway.com/FlaglerFilmFestival/tickets. Visit flaglerfilmfestival.com. All films are unrated and may have mature content.

 

"Songs for a New World"

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: City Repertory Theatre, 160 Cypress Point Pkwy, Suite B207

Cost: Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students and are available online at eventbrite.com or by phone at 585-9415.

Details: The eight performances are Jan. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 27 and 28. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m.  Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m. The show features 14 mini-musicals with styles ranging from pop to jazz to gospel.

Warriors for Wayne Fundraiser

When: 6-9 p.m.

Where: Hammock Wine and Cheese, 5368 N Ocean Shore Blvd.

Cost: Donations accepted

Details: Locals are coming together to help Wayne Picozzi, who has stage IV non-Hodgkin lymphoma. There will be raffle prizes, door prizes, a silent auction, live music and more. Carrabba's Italian Grill at 160 Cypress Edge Drive is also accepting donations for Wayne. When: 11 a.m.

Where: Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive N.

Cost: Free, offering accepted

Details: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 50th anniversary celebration. Keynote speaker: John Miller, Jr., Retired Master Chief Petty Officer U.S. Navy. Call 446-4657.

 

Friday, Jan. 19

Lunch N’ Lecture

When: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: City Hall Community Wing, 160 Lake Ave.

Cost: Free, but registration required at least 48 hours in advance

Details: “Shopping Local and What’s New in Palm Coast” with Palm Coast Mayor Milissa Holland. Lunch provided by Dominic’s Deli. Register at palmcoastgov.com/register.

"Smokey Joe's Cafe"

When: 7:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday shows, 2 p.m. on Sunday shows

Where: Flagler Playhouse, 301 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell

Cost: Tickets are $25

Details: The musical highlights the rock n’ roll tunes of songwriting duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Purchase tickets at flaglerplayhouse.com, by calling the box office at 586-0773 or in person at the Playhouse. Show dates are Jan. 19-21, 25-28, Feb. 2-4.

 

Saturday, Jan. 20

Chili Challenge

When: noon to 4 p.m.

Where: Central Park at Town Center

Cost: $10

Details: The Flagler Woman’s Club is hosting its first-annual Chili Challenge between the Fire Stations through Flagler County, Flagler Beach and Palm Coast. Cost includes a sample of all the competitors' creations. Vote on which one you think is the best. The winning chili gets a trophy and the net proceeds. There will be a DJ, bake sale and raffles. 25th-annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser

When: 9 a.m. check-in

Where: Grand Haven Golf Club

Cost: $125 per person

Details: The fundraiser is set to raise awareness and funds for Family Life Center, which serves Flagler County victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The four-person Modified Buick Scramble will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Registration fee includes game day pass of two mulligans, Hit from the Forward Tee on the 18th, green fees, cart fees, golfer goody bag and post-tournament meal.
