Adult Open Gym Volleyball

When: 7-9:30 p.m. Mondays or Wednesdays, Sept. 11-Dec. 6

Where: Indian Trails Middle School, 5505 N. Belle Terre Parkway

Details: The co-ed volleyball open gym creates new teams weekly. Teams rotate in and out of play. One net is for competitive style play and the second net is for recreational style play. $20 for either session. Register at palmcoastgov.com/register. For more information, call 986-2323.

 

Adult Open Gym Basketball

When: 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays or Thursdays, Sept. 12-Dec. 7

Where: Indian Trails Middle School, 5505 N. Belle Terre Parkway

Free Flu Shots

When: 2-5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29

Where: Palm Coast Centra Care, 1270 Palm Coast Parkway

Details: Bring the whole family to get free flu shots together. There will also be face painting, games, giveaways and balloons.

 

Free film screening: 'A Ballerina’s Tale'

When: noon Saturday, Sept. 30

Where: Matanzas Pirate Theater, 3535 N. Old Kings Road

Details: Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for a free screening of the documentary film “A Ballerina’s Tale” in honor of National Arts in Education Week, hosted by Palm Coast Arts Foundation. The documentary depicts the rise of Misty Copeland, the first female African-American principal dancer of the American Ballet Theatre. Call 225-4394 or email [email protected] to reserve a seat.

 

Night Tours

When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30

Where: Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court

Details: Children 7 and up and adults will explore the parks by flashlight and see the variety of animals that only come out at night. Please bring a flashlight. This free program will change location for each session; the second session will be Sept. 30. Those interested must have pre-registered by Sept. 7 at palmcoastgov.com/register. Family, Faith, Fun Festival

When: 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1

Where: St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5400 Belle Terre Parkway

Details: The annual event is free and open to the public. Games include a water balloon toss, three-legged race and cake walk. There will also be face painting, a photo booth and craft tables. For more information, call 446-2300.

 

Racquet Rookies

When: 6-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2

Where: Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway

Details: Mondays and/or Wednesdays, 6-7 p.m. or Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Palm Coast Tennis Center. This 12-week program is a gentle introduction to the game of tennis for students 5-7 years old. Skill-building exercises and fun activities are used to begin developing the basic movements used on the tennis court. $150 (1 class per week)/$275 (2 classes per week) or $16 per class pay-as-you-go. Free Tai Chi Class

When: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3

Where: Pak’s Karate Academy, 2323 N State St., Bunnell

Details: Pak’s Karate Academy will hold a free Tai Chi class on the first Tuesday of every month starting Oct. 3.

National Night Out

When: 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3

Where: Veterans Park

Details: The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Flagler Beach Police Department, Bunnell Police Department and Flagler Sheriff’s Police Athletic League will host National Night Out, which will include family fun, Halloween safety tips and opportunities to meet local law enforcement.

 

Commissioner Hansen in the Hammock

When: 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3

Where: Hammock Community Center, 79 Mala Compra Road

Details: All are welcome to hear from Flagler County Commissioner Greg Hansen, the guest speaker at the Hammock Community Association meeting. He will bring locals up to date on dune restoration, debris pickup, storm water improvement plans and will take questions.
