Friday, April 20

Town Howl

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: Flagler Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive

Details: The Flagler Humane Society and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will be hosting a “Town Howl” gathering at the shelter to recognize the role we all play in forming policy that prevents animal cruelty. April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. Come meet local and state lawmakers such as Florida House Representative Paul Renner, Bunnell Commissioners, Bunnell Mayor Catherine Robinson and more. Saturday, April 21

Palm Coast Rotary Helping Hands Charity Poker Run

When: registration and breakfast begins at 9 a.m.

Where: event begins at Hilton Garden in Palm Coast

Cost: Registration is $20 per participant/driver and $10 for passengers

Details: The 67-mile Poker Run will depart at 10 a.m. and proceed to Tortuga’s, JT’s Seafood Shack and Ice House Saloon before concluding at the Beach Front Grille in Flagler Beach for prizes, raffle drawings, 50/50 drawing, games and entertainment. Prize for the winning hand is $100 cash.

 

Sunday, April 22

Second-annual Rally by the Sea

When: 1-3 p.m.

Where: Veterans Park, 105 S. 2nd St., Flagler Beach

Cost: Free

Details: Guests can meet the democratic candidates and environmental organizations present at this event, sponsored by Coquina Coast Democratic Progressive Caucus, celebrating Earth Day and the 2018 Democratic candidates. Candidate speakers include, District 6 Congressional: Dr. Stephen Sevigny, Nancy Soderberg and John Upchurch; State House District 24: Adam Morley; Florida Commissioner of Agriculture: R. Advance Directives seminar

Details: The Flagler County Medical Society and Volusia County Medical Society are offering community residents an informative seminar on Advance Directives, an important and easy-to-create document that outlines a person’s healthcare wishes.

 

FCSO “Active Killer” presentation

When: Doors open at 9 a.m.; presentation at 10 a.m.

Where: Christ Lutheran Church, 2323 N. State Street, Bunnell

Cost: Free

Details: Christ Lutheran church and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office will team up to host an “Active Killer” presentation. A two-hour discussion will be conducted by FCSO Sgt. Mike Lutz and Cmdr. Mark Carman.

Flagler Sportfishing Club Spring Tournament

When: 7-8 a.m. check-out

Where: checkout locations Bing’s Landing, under State Road 100 bridge, High Bridge, Vilano Boat Ramp and Dunlawton Ramp

Cost: Non-member fee $60 ($65 after 4/25); member fee $55 ($60 after 4/25)

Details: The club’s 22nd-annual Spring Classic Tournament will be raising money for the Disabled American Veterans in Palm Coast. Registration and silent auction will be 5:30-7 p.m. March 27 at Beach Front Grille, 2444 S. Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach. Mandatory captain’s meeting to follow at 7 p.m. The weigh-in March 28 will be at 3:30-4:30 p.m., at Hidden Treasure Bar and Grill, 820 Moody Lane, Flagler Beach.
