Details: In partnership with Flagler Rowing Club, experienced rowing members will instruct on proper technique while using the erg with a focus on both mechanics and breathing during this class hosted by the city of Palm Coast Parks and Recreation. Details: The 10th-annual Ecumenical Celebration is being attended by several Palm Coast and Flagler Beach churches and musicians from various religious expressions. This event strives toward standing together and total Christian unity throughout denominations. The Matanzas High School Steel Drum band will also perform. Details: The Flagler Woman’s Club invites you to join the Guns and Hoses Chili Challenge between first responders. Tickets will allow guests to sample all the various chilies and vote on which one you think is the best. The winning chili gets bragging rights and a trophy. Details: Tu B’Shevat, the 15th day in the Hebrew month of Shevat, is the day since biblical times as been celebrated by Jews worldwide to tithe their fruit harvest and plant new trees. In modern times, the holiday assumed an even more important role as Jews worldwide contributed funds to plant trees in Israel in order to bring the land from desert to orchards. Globally, Tu B’Shevat known as the Celebration of the Trees, has taken on a more ecological aspect, and is celebrated with a ceremonial planting of a tree. On this Sunday, the 14th day of Shevat in the Hebrew year 5779, rabbis and members of Temple Beth Shalom will celebrate this holiday by planting a young fig tree in front of the building with a prayer for the world, followed by a feast of foods that contain all sorts of fruit. Details: Bring your fancy duds or your best jeans. Come out and listen to some great music by “Southern Chaos,” eat a prime rib dinner, win some door prizes or buy some auction items. All proceeds fund the annual scholarship awards to the 4H and FFA youth exhibitors that are graduating each year. Call 931-6597 to purchase tickets. You must be 18 to attend.
