Thursday, Feb. 8

Science Matters

When: 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Where: Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway

Cost: Free

Details: A bimonthly after school program for children ages 6-12 who like books and science. Use the scientific method and hands-on experiments to learn about the science behind children's stories and the world around us. Limited to the first 24 children. Sign up begins 30 minutes before the program.

 

The Florida I Love

Where: Grand Living Realty Design Center, 2298 Colbert Lane

Cost: Free

Details: Ocean Art Gallery presents its first art opening reception with business partner Grand Living Realty. The featured artist is nationally known plein air oil painter Charles Schaefer, a resident of Palm Coast. Light refreshments, live music and door prizes will add to the evening.

 

Friday, Feb. 9-11

Birds of a Feather Fest

When: various times on Feb. 9-11

Where: Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave.

Cost: Some activities are free, others have fee

Details: The city of Palm Coast is offering a weekend of birding, photography, workshops, family activities and a special community presentation for everyone who loves nature and wildlife. For the full schedule, visit birdingfest.com.

 

Sunday, Feb. 11

Hot 'n Spicy Festival

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11

Where: Florida Agricultural Museum, 7900 N. Old Kings Road

Cost: $5 admission

Details: KIXCounty 98.7, BEACH 105.5 FM and 92.7 FM and the Florida Agricultural Museum present the eighth-annual festival. Gates open at 10 a.m. Banana derby monkey racing, alpaca area, $5 wagon rides, food and craft beer. Free parking. Bring canned goods or non-perishable items to donate to Feed Flagler. A Gathering of Gratitude

When: 3-5 p.m.

Where: VFW Post 8696, 47 Old Kings Road N.

Tuesday, Feb. 13

Cancer survivor to speak at Christ Lutheran Church

When: 10:30 a.m.

Where: Christ Lutheran Church, 2323 N. State St., Bunnell

Details: Ngaio Carlisle, a two-time cancer survivor, will share her story. Carlisle is the author of “Place of the Spirits” and “God’s Hand on My Shoulder.” Open to the public. Call 437-4113. 

 

Town Hall with Commissioner Donald O'Brien

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway

Details: Flagler County Commissioner Donald O’Brien announced a social media campaign and Town Hall sessions to solicit public feedback ahead of county’s strategic planning sessions. O’Brien will use Facebook, Twitter, email and in-person Town Hall meetings to update the public and collect feedback as the county continues to refresh its long-term strategic plan.
