The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs basketball team closed out its preseason on a high note Friday night, defeating Palatka, 63-45.

Palatka led 22-12 after the first quarter, but the Bulldogs rallied for 19 points in the second quarter and 24 points in the fourth for the win.

Freshman guard Malik Maitland led FPC scorers with 12 points. Tyler Hopkins added 11 points and Willie Gardner had 10.

“We came out in the first quarter and did not play our brand of basketball,” FPC coach Gary McDaniel said after the game. “However, our guys settled in, adjusted, and helped us play our game the rest of the way.”
