Brian Daley, a long-time resident of Flagler Beach with over 30 years in the local business community, is starting Bony Booty's, a new beach rental business alongside his sister, Diane Campbell, who will be in charge of social media and administration.
They have access to high-quality, military grade chairs and umbrellas. The operation is entirely mobile; there is no physical storefront. Running out of a "decked-out trailer,” as the owners describe it, they will deliver their rentals right to you in Flagler Beach and on the west side.
They additionally have a mascot skeleton, affectionally named Ms. Salty.
Helping the pair as a sales rep is a family friend, Ellen Asher, who has a history of being actively involved in conservation efforts, building dunes, and keeping the beaches clean. Asher believes in promoting beach conservation, especially to visitors of the area.
Rentals from Bony Booty’s will have attached biodegradable bags in order to encourage keeping the beach clean, along with a discount program to further encourage properly getting rid of any trash.
Bony Booty’s has two upcoming events designed to help the community. The first, which takes place 10 a.m. to noon on April 24, is an outreach program on the beach which focuses on cleaning up the beach and saving the sea turtles. They have purchased eco-friendly bags and are working with the Ancient City Privateers. Everyone is encouraged to come out, dress like a pirate, and help support the event.
The second event is a co-sponsorship of the Rotary bike ride on April 24. Bony Booty’s will be present at the end of the ride, scheduled around 2 p.m., to provide services and merchandise.
Daley and Campbell, both of whom have an entrepreneurial past, see this new venture as an opportunity to provide quality service to the community while enjoying their retirement. Campbell sold her prior business in Atlanta, which provided corporate gift baskets and customized gifts. She is “thrilled to be a part of the business community; to be able to support one another is key.”
