Verizon retailer coming to Palm Coast

Verizon Wireless retailer Cellular Sales will open a new store at 4895 Belle Terre Parkway.

The store is expected to open April 15, according to a Cellular Sales press release, and is looking to fill five job positions for the location. It will be the first Cellular Sales store in Flagler County.

“We’ve been experiencing continued growth in the Daytona Beach area,” Cellular Sales recruiter Christine Bonfante said. “We’re looking to bring on highly motivated individuals who are passionate about customer service.”

Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation celebrates 100th pledge

On March 27, the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation celebrated an important milestone since its creation four years ago, according to a Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation press release: the 100th pledge to the 20/20 Society, representing more than $1 million in donations.

The 20/20 Society is a group of hospital supporters, both individuals and corporations, who have pledged to donate $1,000 each year over the next 10 years to the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation to raise $1 million by 2020.

“We are happy to announce that we have accomplished our initial goal. These funds will directly support the Foundation’s efforts to improve the healthcare in Flagler County,” 20/20 Society Chairman and Hayward Brown Insurance Company CFO Donald O’Brian said. “We can all continue to be a part of this, as we reach for our next goal of 200 members and $2 million in donations. Just imagine what we can do together.”

Realtor Debby Taylor joins Weichert, Realtors Hallmark Properties

Shipping business expands locally

A business on Old Kings Road plans to “change the way people manage their shipping,” according to a press release from eShipperUSA.

Florida Hospital Flagler selects EMPros to staff emergency department

Florida Hospital Flagler has selected Ormond Beach-based Emergency Medicine Professionals, P.A. to staff the hospital’s emergency department.

The change goes into effect April 1. Dr. Kristin McCabe, an EMPros shareholder and board member for the Florida College of Emergency Physicians, has been appointed emergency department medical director for the Palm Coast hospital, according to a Florida Hospital Flagler press release.

“EMPros has the highest quality of emergency medicine services available for patients,” said McCabe. “Even though we employ nurse practitioners and physician assistants to assist us with patient care, every patient who comes to Florida Hospital Flagler’s ER will be seen and cared for by an emergency medicine physician.”

McCabe now serves as emergency department medical director at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach.

EMPros has been a contract partner with Florida Hospital DeLand for 37 years and with Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City for 19 years, and with Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach for seven years.

It employs approximately 40 board-certified local emergency physicians who staff the emergency departments in the three hospitals.

More will be hired to staff the facility in Flagler, according to the press release.

Leslie Van Brink joins Alliance Financial Partners

Leslie Van Brink has joined Alliance Financial Partners as a financial advisor, according to an Alliance Financial press release.

Van Brink has seven years of experience in financial planning, retirement, and 401k planning. She worked for Edward Jones Financial for two and a half years.

A Knoxville, Tenn. native who moved to Flagler County in 2001, Van Brink is vice president on the board of directors for the Flagler Playhouse and has been in over 14 plays.
