“This merger into the Tilton & Unger family creates expansion and opportunities for our customers,” said Patricia Tilton in a press release.

+Edward Jones collects supplies for Palm Coast soldier
Edward Jones is collecting items for Doug Beaven, a Palm Coast soldier who is serving in Afghanistan, and for the 250 other Army Reserve members from Florida from the 993rd Transportation Unit Beaven is serving with.

Beaven and his family are friends with John Skripko, a financial advisor at Edward Jones, who said he heard about Beaven’s experience and wanted to use his business to help.

“(Beaven) is reporting that the flags are being flown at half-mast at least once a week, and usually twice a week,” Jones wrote in an email. “The base they are at is big, so they have stuff available to them, but they are working their backsides off, so they can’t get to the (Exchange).”

Edward Jones will be a drop-off location for items for soldiers until Dec. 10. Jones said hygiene items and snacks — especially trail mix, beef jerky and coffee — are requested. Magazines are better than books, Jones said, because the soldiers work long hours. Other items needed include lip balm, sun block, wipes and feminine hygiene items.

Edward Jones is at 2 Pine Lakes Parkway Suite 2. Call 446-6292.
