FHF part of 2018 'Most Wired' Health System

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives named Adventist Health System, which includes the Florida Hospital in Flagler County, as a recipient of its 2018 "Most Wired" award, which recognizes health care organizations that exemplify best practices through their adoption, implementation and use of information technology.

It's the sixth consecutive year that Adventist Health System has earned the distinction. Adventist Information Technology manages and oversees its business systems and information technology solutions across its hospitals, home health and hospice agencies, skilled nursing facilities, physician practices and business offices.

“Leveraging technology and innovation is a part of our commitment to delivering best-practice, high-quality care,” said David Ottati, president and chief executive officer of Adventist Health System’s Central Florida Division, in a release. “Receiving the 'Most Wired' award is an honor for our organization and we are thankful for the talented, mission-focused team members who help develop, support and maintain the systems that enable us to deliver on our promise of wholeness through exceptional patient care.”

Florida Hospital visits local schools to celebrate Morning Mile program

Florida Hospital visited several local elementary schools to celebrate the kick-off of the American Diabetes Association’s Morning Mile program in October.

Florida Hospital introduced a before-school walking/running program to encourage children to start each day in an active way, reducing their risk of developing chronic diseases and developing good exercise habits that will carry into adulthood.

In 2017, Florida Hospital introduced this program to Rymfire Elementary School in Palm Coast.

The Morning Mile offers a pressure-free and friendly environment, which ensures children of all ages and abilities can pursue fitness.

“As soon as the children start moving, you can hear them laughing and encouraging each other,” Ottati said in a release. “It is uplifting when you see the children take off running, knowing that they are taking steps toward a healthier future.”
