Whenever Tony Libardi would dine at Duff’s Sports Bar and Grill, he would always ask to be served by the same waiter: Jeremy Carl.

And thanks to that relationship, Libardi, the chief operating officer of Marco's Pizza, offered Carl an opportunity to work for his company. A few months later, Carl became the manager of a Marco's Pizza franchise in Orlando.

Since then, Carl's career with the pizza business has taken off. Carl currently operates five stores in the Orlando area, and he was promoted to district manager of Central Florida.

In addition, Carl is now operating a store in Palm Coast, located at 782 Belle Terre Parkway. The restaurant, which makes all of its ingredients fresh, opened near the beginning of October.

“Not many people have this kind of opportunity,” he said. “But I'm glad it's there.”

McNitt, the owner of the Verdego Landscaping Company, will be the board’s 21st member.

“Being born and raised in Flagler County, and with an aging number of family and friends, quality health care is very important to me,” McNitt said in a release. “I believe the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation board is the perfect platform to help educate the community about our local hospital.”

Dentists offering 'Cash for Candy' after Halloween

Flagler Dental Associates will host its sixth-annual “Candy Buy Back” program Nov. 1-10.

“Children can earn $1 per pound of unopened candy when they turn in up to five pounds,” Dr. Ryan Smith said in a press release. “It is important to the Flagler Dental team to encourage our community to make wise dental care decisions and try to avoid unnecessary tooth decay.”

The candy will be collected at both Flagler Dental Associates locations during regular business hours and will be sent overseas to deployed soldiers. Locations: 30 Office Park Drive and 97 Flagler Plaza Drive. Call 446-3883 for the North location or 693-4883 for the South location.
