+ Florida Hospital Flagler hires chief nursing officer
Ellen Lenkevich has been appointed Florida Hospital Flagler’s new chief nursing officer, responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating administrative functions and clinical practice standards.

Lenkevich was previously employed for 23 years at Mercy Memorial Hospital System, in Michigan. Under her leadership, Mercy hospital system reduced its nursing turnover from 17.6% to 2.9%. 

+ Flagler businesses open Complete Home Showroom
Victor’s Tile Plus and Paul Mele Enterprises joined forces on June 6, when they opened Flagler’s Complete Home Showroom, located inside the VerdeGo complex, in Bunnell.

Established in 1987, Victor’s Tile Plus is a Flagler-native, family-owned business. Paul Mele Enterprises is also family-owned and specializes in the installation of KraftMaid products for kitchen and bathroom remodeling.

The new shared showroom is approximately triple the size of Victor’s Tile Plus’ former location, allowing for flooring, cabinetry, landscaping and construction inventory to all be stocked in one center location.

Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, the showroom is located at 3335 North State St., Bunnell. Saturday hours will be added after a grand opening in July.

+ Wendy’s welcomes its first paying customers
The newly opened Wendy’s, at 2570 Commerce Parkway on State Road 100, Bunnell, welcomed its first paying customers, Monday, June 13.

Father and son Keith Bowler Jr. and Keith Bowler Sr. smiled for the camera before placing their history-making orders. Junior flashed a peace sign. The memory of Dave Thomas soared.

+ Historical Society teams with bank for mural
As Wachovia Banks all over town shift into their new Wells Fargo colors, the store at 222 Palm Coast Parkway will also be posting a Wells Fargo Palm Coast mural.

The Flagler County Historical society provided vintage Flagler County photographs to be used in the mural.
