+ Kohl’s performs service at Whispering Meadows
Eight managers from Kohl’s, known as the A-Team, helped build a wheelchair-accessible path last month in the temporary recreation room at Whispering Meadows Ranch.

The ranch serves people with special needs in the county. Thanks to the ramp, representative Kristine Aguirre said, “We are now be able to bring small groups inside should the weather be cold or rainy.”

The Kohl’s group also built a wooden bench and hung swings in the play area.

“These projects were so important to complete; we just needed the manpower to get them done,” Aguirre said. “The A-Team was energetic, had great team spirit and was really fun to work with.”

Port Orange Store Manager Alan Curley, who lives in Palm Coast, said the effort was part of the Kohl’s Associates in Action program, which encourages employees to serve others in their communities.

Aguirre said there are other opportunities to help at the ranch. E-mail [email protected] or call 503-6312.
