A 27-year-old Bunnell man died the night of April 11 after a car struck him as he rode his bicycle on U.S. 1 near Seminole Woods Parkway.

A Florida Highway Patrol report does not name the victim, who was cycling in the center of the outside northbound lane at 8:47 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old Bunnell woman, according to the FHP report.

A sedan that was traveling behind the truck also struck the cyclist after he fell in the roadway. The bicyclist died at the scene of the crash, according to the report.

Both vehicles stopped and waited for first responders.

The woman who was driving the truck said she hadn't seen the cyclist, according to the report.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating.
