Terry Bottom was the Best of Show winner of the Flagler County Art League's latest show, "Freestyle Photography – A Virtual Show," which is online through Sept. 8 at https://www.flaglercountyartleague.org/freestyle-photography.

Bottom's photo, “Mom’s Getting a Little Crazy,” "captures a remarkable moment that has an immediate and lasting impact on the viewer," according to judge Stephanie Shaw, a registrar and lead museum technician for the Southeast Museum of Photography at Daytona State College. "The osprey’s severe and direct gaze is arresting. This image skillfully encapsulates the strength and beauty of these birds, as well as the fierceness of motherhood."

Other winners are as follows:

  • First of Show: “The Portal under the Bridge,” by Robyn Cowlan
  • Second of Show: “Storm Front,” by Ella Rose Ferri
  • Third of Show: “Reaching,” by Lori Vetter Bowers

Shaw also recognized the following photographers for their work in other categories: Nancy Zedar, Adelet Kegley, Andrea Rumrill, Ella Rose Ferri, Bob Currul, Jane Bederka, Kathleen Warren, Dave Bowers and Art David.

"I am incredibly impressed with the raw talent and creativity of these photographers," Shaw wrote in her concluding comments."
