Scott A. Selis, principal and founder of Selis Elder Law of Florida, was installed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Flagler County Bar Association on Jan. 8.

“I am excited to join this important group of attorneys and judges which, among other things, helps educate the general public about the law by hosting four legal clinics per year — free to the public."

When asked why he's excited, Selis said, "Taking the mystery out of the law for the public alongside other professionals means we are able to make a difference in a meaningful and impactful way — and that’s one of the best parts of practicing law.”

Selis’s practice focuses on elder care law, elder law and estate planning. Selis Elder Law of Florida also handles probate, trust administration and guardianship.

Public Service is not new to Selis. He was assistant chair of the Florida Bar’s Elder Law Section, was awarded the Florida Bar Elder Law Section’s Elder Law Attorney of the Year in 2016, and received a public service award from the Florida Bar’s Elder Law Section in 2012. He served as chair and co-chair of the Florida Bar Elder Law Sections’  legislative Committee from 2012–2017. Mr. Selis also served on a statewide Task Force that advocates for the Elderly and Disabled.

The other members and officers of the Flagler County Bar Association are as follows: Alicia R. Washington, Alfred Washington, Roman Diveev, Paul A. Martin, William Bosch, Diane Vidal, Lisa Dawson, Regina Huzior-Balzan, Kevin Vagovic and Regina Ranier-Sprague.
