Flagler County officials recommend that residents evacuating Friday, Sept. 8, stay informed about traffic and weather conditions as they leave the area, according to a release from the county.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, county officials were advising residents to evacuate west, but they no longer feel like that is a good recommendation.

“The track keeps shifting, which makes it difficult all the way around,” Flagler County Public Safety Emergency Manager Steve Garten said in a release.

The National Weather Service has a free Android App available through Google Play called National Weather Service NOW, which allows residents to get the most up-to-date information on the storm.

The Florida 511 Traveler Information System from the Florida Department of Transportation is the state’s official source for real-time traffic and travel information. There is an app that you can download that provides door-to-door directions with travel times and alternate routes on most roadways throughout the state.

Current information can also be found on Flagler County’s website, partner radio station WNZF, 1550 AM, 106.3 FM, and the Flagler Radio App worldwide.

The county’s social media team will also be providing updates through its Facebook and Twitter accounts.
