The improvement in the real estate market has encouraged the largest real estate company in Volusia and Flagler counties, Adams, Cameron and Co., Realtors, to reopen an office in Flagler County.
John Adams, president and general manager of the company, has announced that they will open an office after the first of the year. They have leased office space next to the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce on State Road 100 across from Flagler Palm Coast High School. The office is presently being remodeled.
The company had closed their Palm Coast office when the recession slowed the housing market 10 years ago, but their agents continued to serve the Flagler County market, working out of the Ormond Beach office.
Adams said recently that having a local office in the county will make it easier to serve home sellers, buyers and real estate agents. For example, closings can be held at the new office.
“The real estate market is very strong in Flagler and we expect it to remain steady,” he said.
The new office will be near Town Center, which Adams described as a growing area.

Winter Wonder Day planned at the Pavilion
Halifax Health Winter Wonder Day has been rescheduled for 5-8 p.m., Dec. 14 at The Pavilion in Port Orange, 5501 S. Williamson Blvd. This free event will feature a visit from Santa, treats, complimentary stockings for children, face painting, entertainment, crafts, train rides and a tree lighting. Call 425-4224.
Hospital, Cub Scouts clean the beach
Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center employees, joined by local Cub Scouts Pack 490, met at Andy Romano Beachfront Park in Ormond Beach and removed trash from the park grounds and two miles along the beach after Hurricane Irma. They collected 315 pounds of garbage, including a car’s bumper, a chair, planks of wood and even a bed.
United Way gets youth involved
Dennis Burns, CEO of United Way Volusia-Flagler Counties, has announced the launch of the Millennial Project, a network of innovative young professionals that will pursue philanthropic efforts in education, financial stability, and health
The Millennial Project will engage in community service and oversee the $20,000 Social Innovation Fund allocation and evaluation process for the current fiscal year. United Ways around the world have established similar groups, according to a press release.
The group is looking to fill two additional member positions.

Tire store, auto parts coming to Beville
JB Daytona Beach LLC has purchased 1250 Beville Road, Daytona Beach, for $1,675,000 from The Southern District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
The former church property consisted of a 24,956-square-foot building on about five acres, according to a press release from SVN Alliance Commercial Real Estate Advisors. The building will be demolished and the property developed with a Tire Kingdom and O’Reilly Auto Parts.
John W. Trost, CCIM with SVN, represented the seller and buyer in the transaction.
Shops coming to One Daytona
International Speedway Corporation, developer of One Daytona, a shopping development across from Daytona International Speedway, has commenced renovation of Volusia Point shopping center, located at the corner of International Speedway Boulevard and Bill France Boulevard. It will be called Shoppes at One Daytona.
The scope of the redevelopment project includes new building façades and a connection to One Daytona. New tenants include First Watch, The Daytime Café, Zen Nails, AT&T, Dahlia Mexican Kitchen and Fantastic Sams.
Also, two new businesses have opened recently in One Daytona, P.F. Chang’s, a restaurant, and It’sugar, a candy store.
