73-year-old in sedan hits 75-year-old pedestrian

While driving on State Road A1A in Flagler Beach the afternoon of Oct. 27, David Carlson, 73, of Palm Coast, hit a 75-year-old Ormond Beach man, sending him to Halifax Hospital with serious injuries.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Carlson was traveling in a Cadillac STS, when he attempted to drive around a motorcycle, which had stopped to allow pedestrians to cross the street.

Carlson then struck Antonio Brasca, 75, throwing Brasca to the ground east of the roadway.

The Florida Highway Patrol was requested by the Flagler Beach Police Department to investigate the crash due to the serious injuries involved.
