A 15-year-old young woman from Germany was struck by a Flagler Beach driver on the evening of March 21 and is now in critical condition, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 74-year-old Flagler Beach woman was driving an SUV south on South Oceanshore Boulevard (State Road A1A), passing South Central Avenue at 8:12 p.m., the report says. The teen was walking west on A1A, toward Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area, crossing the road. The report notes that there was no crosswalk at that area, and there are no streetlights.

The SUV struck the teen, and she was transported to AdventHealth to be treated for injuries. She was listed in critical condition. The FHP does not immediately release names of people involved in crashes.
