Our area is under a severe thunderstorm warning, according to a 7:44 p.m. Code Red phone call. Large hail is possible. A tornado watch is also in effect until 8 p.m.
Earlier, at a severe weather briefing at 11 a.m., Flagler County Emergency Management, with information from the National Weather Service, said that from 4 – 9 p.m. Sunday, sections of Flagler are in the high risk category for destructive winds, hail and tornados.
The southern section of Flagler County is in the moderate risk category, but the EOC said residents in the entire county should treat it as high risk and be aware and prepared.
•Probability of severe weather 25 miles from any point in the pink and red shaded areas is 30%.
•The hatched area represents a 10% or greater probability significant severe weather.
•Significant severe weather is winds over 75 mph, two-inches of hail or larger, or EF 2 or stronger tornadoes.
•Large violent tornadoes, destructive intense winds are the main concerns
