Rah, rah! Flagler PAL cheerleaders headed to nationals on Dec. 3
The Flagler Police Athletic League Pee Wee cheerleaders placed first in their division last weekend at the Southeast Pop Warner Regional Competition, in Orlando.
For the first time ever, Flagler PAL will send a cheer squad to the national competition, which will take place Dec. 3, at the ESPN Disney Wide World of Sports.
In order to make the trip, the squad needs to raise some money to offset the travel costs.

The Jr. Midget Cheerleaders placed third at regionals.
Lady Pirates soccer beats Orange Park, 4-1
Despite falling behind early, the Matanzas Lady Pirates soccer team defeated Orange Park, 4-1, on Monday night.
Gabbi Paiz netted the first and fourth goal for Matanzas, bringing her season total to 21 goals. She also added two assists. Janessa Spina and Karen Rodriguez added the other two goals.
The Lady Pirates (6-2) will be on the road for their next two games: Dec. 4 at Creekside, and Dec. 6 at Ponte Vedra. Both are district games.
Hoops: Lady Bulldogs upend Pedro Menendez
Flagler Palm Coast got off to a hot start on Monday night, scoring 27 points in the first quarter en route to a 64-28 win over Pedro Menendez.
Armani Walker led the Lady Bulldogs (3-1) with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and six steals. Princess Williams added 12 points, three assists and five steals.
Bowens powers FPC past University
Dustin Bowens dropped 21 points and snatched nine rebounds, leading Flagler Palm Coast (3-1) past University, 82-61, on Monday night.
Tyler Hopkins added nine points, nine steals and 10 assists.
Lady Pirates hoops lose two games
The Matanzas girls basketball team lost to Olympia and First Academy over the Thanksgiving break.
The Lady Pirates (1-5) lost to Olympia, 46-21, and then to First Academy, 51-32.
Margaret Calhoun led the Lady Pirates in scoring in both games, scoring eight points against Olympia, and 11 points against First Academy.
Matanzas looks to get back on track when it travels to Pine Ridge 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29.
