Bulldogs basketball begins season with win over Seabreeze
Flagler Palm Coast (1-0) knocked off Seabreeze on Tuesday night, winning the season opener, 66-38.
Senior guard Tyler Hopkins led the Bulldogs in scoring with 19 points and six thefts. Dustin Bowens tallied 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. Senior big-man Willie Gardner scored nine points and added 14 rebounds and four steals.
The Bulldogs led 17-16 after the first quarter, but pulled away in the second quarter and the second half.
Matanzas boys basketball falls to Deltona on Monday
Matanzas (0-1) was limited to just 16 first-half points Monday night in a 66-42 loss to Deltona.
The Pirates trailed 29-16 at halftime, and Deltona scored 19 points in the third quarter to stretch its lead.
Senior Ivan Tsabak led the team in scoring with 13 points, three assists and four rebounds. Damon Hayden totaled nine points in addition to one block, two steals and one rebound.

High School students donate to breast cancer patients

The Flagler Palm Coast High School Future Business Leaders of America class donated $580 to Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation’s breast cancer fund, which provides screening mammograms, diagnostic studies and education to local qualified women who are uninsured and seeking assistance. -
