The Kiwanians were kept busy placing new bicycle helmets on every child who climbed onto the appointed stool Oct. 23, at the fifth-annual Kid Safety Fair. In addition to the free bicycle helmets, the Palm Coast Fire Department provided demonstrations in its fire-simulation trailer, and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office performed fingerprinting demonstrations. Recently, the Flagler Palm Coast Kiwanis Club also installed Bill Klinkenberg as the new 2011 president.

The Florida Department of Transportation changed its rules about yellow light timing two years ago, a move that went largely unnoticed until recently, when the state attracted national criticism for the change. Despite this, yellow light times in Palm Coast have changed little since 2008.
