A Palm Coast woman was listed in serious condition when she crashed her car into the guardrail on U.S. 1 Saturday afternoon after she lost control when reaching for her cell phone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Rachelle Horne, 40, was traveling north on U.S. 1 about .2 miles north of Palm Coast Parkway around 1:10 p.m. when she went to reach for her cell phone.
The left side of her 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser struck the median guardrail after losing control. The vehicle then steered to the shoulder where the front of the car struck the shoulder guardrail.
Horne suffered serious injuries and was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler, according to the report.
She was charged with failure to drive in a single lane, the report states. There was no alcohol involvement.
