Console crook
12:16 a.m. — First Block of Fanshawe Lane. Larceny. A victim stated that an unknown suspect entered the victim's unlocked truck while it was parked in a driveway overnight.

When the victim returned, the truck’s center console and glove box, which had been locked, were damaged and opened. A check book and 10 CDs were taken from the box.

Aug. 28
Shattered, not stirred
10 a.m. — First Block of Westgrill Drive. Suspicious incident. A victim reported that when he came home from work, the rear sliding glass door to his residence was shattered.

An officer observed the door and found it still intact inside the door casing with no pieces on the ground. There were no signs of pry marks or any other signs of attempted forced entry. The victim stated that access was not gained into the residence and that nothing from the residence’s back porch was missing either.

6:56 p.m. — First Block of Zephyr Lily Trail. Fraud. A citizen reported that she had been looking for a part-time job and randomly received an email from a person she has never met.

The email was to offer her a job as a personal assistant. Upon receiving this email she replied only with her name, address and phone number. On Aug. 28 she received an envelope with a check in the amount of $5,640 and instructions to keep $500 of it for herself and to set aside $70 for mailing costs. The instructions then asked her to deposit the check and mail half of the remaining money to two different parties with addresses in the Philippines.

The citizen contacted the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office to file a report of possible fraud.
