Students, teachers and volunteers at the Imagine School at Town Center in Palm Coast came together during the 2011-2012 school year to raise $2,508.18 in the Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies fundraising program.
The program, a partnership between the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Darden’s Olive Garden Restaurants, raised more than $660,000 in the Northern and Central Florida Chapter School and Youth Program. Funds support blood cancer research and patient services.
“It’s almost unbelievable to me that one school can raise so much money to help find a cure for blood cancers,” said Kelley Lesperance, executive director of the Northern and Central Florida Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. “We’re honored that the Imagine School at Town Center put forth so much effort.”
Nationally, more than 27,000 schools engaged in service, leadership and teamwork on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to collect spare change, and learn they could make a real difference in the lives of others.
Across the nation, the LLS School and Youth Programs raised more than $26 million.
