The Friends of Washington Oaks will hold their annual Second Saturday Clearance Sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11, at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd. Selected plants will be up to 75% off.
Prices will be greatly reduced on most of the stock. Washington Oaks Plant Sales always feature unusual and hard to find plants including Florida natives.
All proceeds benefit the park for enhancement of current and new facilities.
Join a park ranger on an informative stroll at 11 a.m. through the formal park gardens to learn about the various flowers, plants, and butterfly species. Also, visitors may take a tour through the 1940s greenhouse that was recently restored by park staff and volunteers

Dog Wash and Yard Sale — 10 a.m. Aug. 11, at the Flagler Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive. Dogs will get a bath and a special treat for any cash donation, and the yard sale has merchandise contributed by volunteers and supporters. There will also be clinics for low-cost shots and micro-chipping from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
