Airing dirty laundry
3:28 p.m. — first block of Becker Lane, Palm Coast
Resisting arrest. Sheriff’s Office deputies found a fugitive hiding from arrest in a pile of his friend’s dirty laundry.
The fugitive was wanted for multiple felony warrants. Deputies received a tip that the suspect was hiding out in a friend’s home, with the homeowner’s knowledge, according to an arrest report. When deputies arrived at the home, the homeowner had just left to go to the store.
When the homeowner returned, he told deputies that the suspect was not inside his home, but that he would check anyway, the report said. The man spent over five minutes checking the home with the deputies waiting outside.
The homeowner returned, insisting his friend wasn’t inside. When deputies searched the home, they found the suspect hiding under a pile of clothing with a laundry basket placed on top of him, the report said.
The suspect was arrested, as well as the homeowner.

12:29 p.m. — 300 block of Palm Coast Parkway
Reckless driving. An Orlando man on his way to a car show in Jacksonville was arrested for reckless driving.
A Sheriff's Office deputy saw the man weaving his Honda through cars on the the interstate, according to the man's arrest report. The Honda cut off multiple other cars and was speeding in the northbound lanes on Interstate 95.
The deputy began pursuing the Honda, which sped up and then exited the highway at the Palm Coast Parkway off-ramp, going into the grass to bypass the line of stopped cars. When the deputy attempted to follow the Honda, he hit a posted sign, disabling his patrol car, the report said.
The Honda was soon caught by other deputies at the east end of Palm Coast Parkway. The man attempted to switch seats with his girlfriend, only for a nearby witness to tell police he was the one driving the car.
The man admitted to speeding away from the first deputy, saying he was scared to be pulled over because he was driving without a license, the report said.
