The Ormond Beach Firefighters Charities received a $5,000 donation from Homes for Heroes on Thursday, Feb. 1, to benefit the family of late firefighter Ethan Wilson.

Last February, Wilson was found unresponsive in the surf at New Smyrna Beach and later died in the hospital. As a final act of service, the firefighter and paramedic donated his organs. Wilson is survived by his wife and son.
