In the early morning of Sunday, April 29, 64 runners and volunteers helped raise awareness to stop child abuse, at the Walk to End Child Abuse. The event raised $500. Supporting organizations included the Our Children First Foundation, which has a goal to inform, educate and empower. Another group was Riders for Children, a family of bikers who are dedicated to children and families affected by child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Each participant of the 5k completed seven laps around the lake at City Center and was given a pin-on ribbon saying "Stop Child Abuse."
