Blues and BBQ to raise scholarship funds Saturday night

Saturday night, the amphitheater at the Daytona State College Palm Coast campus will be live with blues and barbecue. Sponsored by Beach 92.7 and Mercedes-Benz of Daytona Beach, the night will benefit Flagler County Education Foundation’s scholarship program.

FCEF President-Elect and owner of Woody’s BBQ Joe Rizzo will be providing complimentary barbeque. Music will be provided by Anthony Wild & The Suspects.

Other happenings are:
Oktoberfest — 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Club 53 Old Kings Road N. Hosted by the German American Friendship Club. Dinner served at 6 p.m. with a choice of sauerbraten or stuffed roast pork. Open seating. Cost is $25 per person for members and $27.50 for guests. Call 283-5755.

Oldies Revue Dance — 5:30 p.m. at the Palm Coast VFW, 47 Old Kings Road. Features the Knights to Remember. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets $10. Food will be available. Call 446-8696.

Helicopter Golf Ball Drop — 5-6 p.m. at the Hammock Beach Resort Ocean Course, 200 Ocean Crest Drive. Golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter and the ball landing in or closest to the hole wins $10,000. Tickets (balls) may be purchased at the event or at familypromiseflagler.org. Event is free and open to the public. Winner need not be present. Sponsored by Family Promise of Flagler County. All proceeds benefit homeless children and their families. Call 693-4393.
