Tea event aims to bring water to Daytona North

Women and men gathered Friday, Oct. 19, for an afternoon tea, at the Hammock Dunes Club. The High Tea Affair, put on by the Woman’s Initiative of United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties, raised more than $7,000 that will go toward Project Grace.

Project Grace is dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to about 2,200 Daytona North residents.

“This project will mean so much to so many,” said Flagler County Commissioner Milissa Holland, who is also a member of the Woman’s Initiative.

Also at the tea, Ann Vohs was recognized as the group's Community Changer of the Year for "consistently stepping up and getting involved."

Meg Maguire was awarded Best Hat, and Mimi Batuch was awarded Overall Best Dressed.
