Ormond Beach actors to perform at Daytona Playhouse: Friday

Madeleine Borth, with Joey and Allison Maxwell, of Ormond Beach, will star in the Dyatona Playhouse’s “House of Wonders,” opening Oct. 26.

Three Ormond Beach actors will star in the Daytona Playhouse’s “House of Wonders” production, opening Halloween weekend.

Madeleine Borth, with Joey and Allison Maxwell, star in this play about Holly McGlandrey, a writer commissioned to pen a book about her great aunt, Myrta Jane Wonders (played by Borth), who used to work as a madam in Alaska. After being summoned by Quija board, the long-dead relative aims, with the help of her gangster ex-husband and two women who allegedly worked for her, to set her niece straight about the afterlife.

The Maxwells play McGlandrey’s eccentric friends, Chris and Rachel, a Dairy Queen-obsessed journalist and an frugal and adventurous cook, respectively.

“House of Wonders” will open Oct. 26 and run through Nov. 4, at 100 Jessamine Blvd., in Daytona Beach. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27, Nov. 1, 2 and 3. Matinee shows will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 and Nov. 4.
