Four Matanzas High School students stood on a tarp Thursday, Oct. 18, creating a slippery film of ketchup, mustard and chocolate syrup. When it was apparent that there was enough mess to slide on, students took turns one-by-one running and sliding head first on their stomachs to the end, where bottles were set up.

The game was human bowling, at the Gooey Games. The evening, which is part of the school’s Homecoming activities, focused on one thing: getting messy. Not the traditional type of messy, either — peanut butter-ketchup-chocolate syrup-and-paint messy.
