With construction well under way on the new Zaxby’s, licensee Dickie Jones expects to open the restaurant sometime in April, according to a Tuesday statement.

The restaurant will be located in Cobblestone Village, 180 Cypress Edge Drive, near Florida Hospital Flagler and Carrabba’s.

The restaurant will create 50 to 60 jobs, Jones said.

“I’m excited to bring Zaxby’s to Palm Coast,” Jones said. “I realized that this area is the perfect fit for the family atmosphere Zaxby’s represents. I’m looking forward to providing the same quality food and services Zaxby’s is known for.”

The new location will be the first one in Flagler County, and the 49th in Florida. Zaxby’s currently operates more than 565 locations in 13 states.

Zaxby’s provides chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, salads and more in a fun, relaxing atmosphere.

Zaxby’s boasts a quick-casual format, providing services and amenities that fall somewhere between fast food and a sit-down restaurant. At the new restaurant, customers will place their orders at the counter and will be called to pick up their prepared-at-order meals when they are ready.

The new 3,847-square-foot location will seat 90 in Zaxby’s unique. There also will be a drive-thru.

Zaxby's was announced in June 2012.
