THE WEEKENDER: Battle to invade Agricultural Museum

Troops will take the battlefield at the Florida Agricultural Museum, 7900 Old Kings Road N., for a two-day Civil War reenactment this weekend, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, and Sunday, Oct. 14.

The Pellicer Creek Raid will involve a number of living history groups from around the
Southeastern United States.

Approximately 150 infantry and 25 cavalry troops will stage two battles. Battles will take place 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, after a parade at noon.

Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for children. Sensible shoes are strongly recommended.

Herbs in the Gardens Festival — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd. Beginning at 10 a.m., plants are on sale. At 11 a.m., you can enjoy a ranger-led garden tour of the park's 20 acres of formal gardens. Regular park entrance fees apply.

Candidates Forum — 11 a.m. at the Pine Course, 400 Pine Lakes Parkway. Hosted by the American Association of University Women. Lunch is $15; call 585-5564.

Open House at the Palm Coast Yacht Club — 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Palm Coast Yacht Club, 1 Yacht Club Drive.
