Friday, Jan. 18 began eight days of prayer for Christian unity, in union with all Christians.
This year’s universal theme is “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6: 6-8).
Locally, the main annual event of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is the Fourth Flagler Churches Together in Prayer and Song, 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave., Flagler Beach. Participating this year are seven choirs, two soloists, and a special duet with the Rev. Al Esposito, of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, on the violin and the Rev. Beth Gardner, of the United Methodist Church of Bunnell, on flute.
The event is open to all and is free of charge. Voluntary love donations will go to Family Promise of Flagler County.
