Major League Baseball handed out suspensions Monday as 13 players were busted for using performance-enhancing drugs.
A story in The Miami Herald revealed Biogenesis, an anti-aging clinic in South Florida, illegally sold controlled substances to high school students.
In response, the Florida High School Athletic Association has asked its Sports Medical Advisory Committee to conduct a top-to-bottom review of existing standards to determine how they can be strengthened to stop the trend of PED use among professional and college athletes from spreading throughout prep sports.
Should the state test high school student-athletes for the use of performance-enhancing drugs? Why? Why not?

@ErikaaElainee @aobrien7 if you think about it 1 out of 650 is kind of small. Why not test everyone to make sure everything is fair game.

@aobrien7 just because 1 out of 650 tested positive doesn't mean everyone should be. If they suspect it, then that's when they should

@aobrien7 the only way that becomes functional to test everybody is if it becomes a part of the yearly required physical. Cost still issue

@aobrien7 No. My performance on the field should suggest that I'm not using. Besides, it would take a lot to test EVERY player in Florida.

@aobrien7 Random testing in postseason play. Higher testing rate in championship competitions. 1-year ban if positive, team vacates all wins
