FPC girls basketball ready for district final

After 24 games, the only blemish on the Lady Bulldogs' record came from a top-ranked Boca Raton team, just a day after FPC had just gone 12 rounds with, then, undefeated Ribault. Now, with the regular season finished, and Sandalwood wiped out in the district semi-final, there are three things looming for the hungry Dawgs: the district, regional and state championships.

If senior star player Tamara Henshaw has anything to with it, FPC is only getting started. The forward scored 11 points, grabbed nine boards, stole six passes and blocked five steals to lead her team past Sandalwood and into the district final against Westport at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at FPC. Whether the girls win or lose, they will still go on to regional play, for a chance to repeat as region champions.

Drew Woodall, Taylor Eddy and Brooke Qualls all placed in the Top 6, which means they have to wait to see if their numbers will qualify for states.
