UPDATED at 10:09 a.m. Thursday
As of this morning, the plane is still parked in front of the storage facility on Palm Coast Parkway, according to Lt. Bob Weber, of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Officials will not authorize the pilot and co-pilot to take off from the parkway because of the close proximity of homes and businesses in the immedage area.

ORIGINAL STORY
A single-engine plane carrying two people that originated out of Phoenix East Aviation Inc., in Daytona Beach, made an emergency landing on Palm Coast Parkway around 6:37 p.m. Wednesday.

Mechanical problems with the engine forced the pilot, Raul Desouza, to make the emergency landing near West Point Plaza, across from Bridgehaven Drive, on Palm Coast Parkway westbound, according to Lt. Bob Weber, public information officer with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Joo Lee was the co-pilot on board the plane.

As it was landing, the plane clipped a tractor-trailer, causing minor damage, Weber said. Because of that, the Florida Highway Patrol is treating the incident as a crash.

No one was injured, Weber said. Officials were cleaning up the scene and hoped to have the road re-opened shortly.
