Pedestrian struck and killed on I-95

Douglas Reynolds, 49, was struck by an SUV while crossing the road near mile marker 289.

A 49-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he crossed Interstate 95 on foot late the night June 30 near the Palm Coast Parkway exit at mile marker 289, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The pedestrian, Douglas Reynolds, ran from east to west across the road at about 11:30 p.m., into the path of a southbound 2015 Honda Pilot sport utility vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl from Blacksburg, Virginia, according to the news release.

Reynolds died at the scene of the crash. The driver was not injured.
