Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Pine Lakes Apartment complex, on Pine Lakes Parkway, late Saturday evening in response to a report of an attempted purse snatching, according to Debra Johnson, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

The 33-year-old victim told deputies that she arrived home around 11:24 p.m. She said that while she was still seated in the vehicle, a white male in his mid- to late-20s walked up on her, grabbed her purse strap and demanded her purse. The victim said she attempted to surrender the purse, but couldn’t because the strapped was slung across her body.

The robber then began to punch her in the face three times. The victim said she was able to get out of the car, and the male ran off toward the brush line between the parking lot and Belle Terre Parkway.

The would-be robber was described as wearing a grayish-colored hoodie and a green beanie-type hat. He had a slender build and heavy acne.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 386-313-4911.
